I have been going through a lot over the past few weeks with my Mom being in the hospital. I seemed to be the beating post for everyone in my families stress. No matter what I did or said it was never good enough. After a while you are just about to your breaking point and a really WONDERFUL friend could tell that I was just about there. One morning when I came into to work, there was a surprise on my desk. It was the Hope Quest color, "HOPE NO MATTER WHAT". It is absolutely amazing the impact that little gift of color, along with the inspiring words that were included on the note card. I had to take a few minutes to compose myself long enough to say thank you for caring!! Even then I started crying agian.
My Mom passed away this past Saturday. At the service when I got up to leave was that same friend, along with a few others. It's amazing what the support of friends can do.

I just wanted to tell you how very sorry I am about your mother's passing!  There are so many emotions that bubble up when we lose a parent....but you sound like you are surrounded by people that truly care about you, and that tends to make all the difference!  Try not to take everything too personally with your family right now.  Everybody deals with death and mourning in a different way.  You just make sure that you are taking care of yourself!!!  I want to send you a big hug, lots of light....and my most sincere condolences!!!  Get lots of rest and treat yourself well....your heart and body need a little extra love right now!!!
Big hugs and lots of prayers coming your way!
Heather

I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a parent is so difficult.  When my Dad passed, everyone in our family went through a completely different grieving process.  I personally found it helpful to focus on all of the good memories and conversations that I shared with my Dad.  Unfortunately, anger is part of  grieving, and maybe that is where some of your family is at this time. It is good that you have such great friends to carry you through this. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom.  Earlier this year I lost my 19 year old daughter.  We're still grieving for her, but it's true, like karrielyn and Heather said, everyone grieves differently.  I notice that my Dad is very irritable and snaps at my Mom very easily.  My husband and I fight more often.  Unfortunately it's just how grief affects us. Anger is part of it.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to post in this thread. Heather, please let me know.  I don't mean to make light of your Mom's death, PiggieAddicton.
About a month ago, I found out I have cancer in one of the bones in my leg. I'll need surgery and chemo.  This has been an awful year for my family.

Kathy: Where the focus of this thread is hope I don't see anything wrong with you adding in your thoughts. Some times in our lives are just much harder on us than others and we all deal differently. For me the most important thing is realizing that there are others who care about me and often they aren't the ones we would expect. Each of us is important and contributes to the world in a unique way. Hope all goes well as you deal with your own challenge!

Hi Marcey,  Sorry it took so long to reply.  I felt bad after posting about myself in PiggieAddiction's thread.  I should have started a new one. I agree with you, in order to have hope, I think it's very important to have people who care about us, either family or friends.  Thanks so much for your good wishes.    Kathy
